Microsoft Outlook 2000 setup
This guide is for setting up an email account in Microsoft's Outlook 2000.
Upon running Outlook 2000 for the first time the following screen will popup.
- Click Next to continue
- If you have another mail application installed you may be prompted to import your address book and previous email stored by that application. If you want to do this, select the old email program in the list (we have used Eudora as an example)
- If you do not wish to import from the other email application, click on None of the above
- If your old mail program does not show up in the list it is probably not compatible with Outlook 2000 and you will have to update your address book manually
- Click Next to continue.
- Select Internet Only to configure Outlook for iiNet e-mail.
- Click Next to continue
- Click Yes to continue
- Type the name you wish to display on the e-mails you send
- Click Next to continue
- Type your iiNet e-mail address in the form: username@iinet.net.au
- Click Next to continue
- Set My incoming mail server is a to POP3
- Set Incoming mail server to: mail.iinet.net.au
- Set Outgoing mail server to: mail.iinet.net.au
- Click Next to continue.
- In the Account name field type your iiNet username
- In the Password field type your iiNet password
- Tick Remember Password if you do not want to type your password in every time
- Click Next to continue
- The preferred selection is: Connect using my phone line

Broadband customers please choose
Connect using my local area connection.
- When you have selected, please click Next
- If you selected Connect using my phone line you will be prompted to select the connection for Outlook 2000 to use. Choose the iiNet connection, you may have called it something else.
- Click Next
- Click Finish
Congratulations! You have now completed your email setup.
