VOIP adapter (ATA Device) troubleshooting
ATA does not respond or work or LED indicators do not light
If the LED indicators are not ON, the problem may be that the Belkin ATA is not connected properly. Verify that the ATA is plugged into a power source. Check to see that the cables are connected to the correct ports and that they are secure.
There is no dial tone and the Phone 1 or 2 LED is not lit.
- Power down your modem/router (physically unplug the power cord/adapter).
- Disconnect all ethernet cables from the modem/router.
- Wait 3 minutes and then power on the modem/router.
- Wait for 5 minutes and then power on the ATA.
- Ensure the RJ11 telephone cable between the telephone handset and the ATA is connected in the Phone 1 socket.
- Check that the "Connected" LED on the front panel of the ATA is lit. Confirm you have an internet connection on your modem/router.
- Repeat if required.
The ATA cannot connect to the router or the "Connected" light does not come on
The ATA appears to be powered but the "Connected" light is not green. The problem may be that your router and ATA are not connected properly. Make sure the Ethernet cable between the router and the ATA is connected to the ATA's "Connection to Router" port and the cable is firmly in place. Power off the router for a few seconds and then power it on again.
Cannot connect to the Internet or "Connected" light is blinking
If your ATA appears to be functioning properly but you cannot connect to the internet, the problem may be that your connection type may not match the ISP's connection.
- If you have a static IP address connection, you will require the IP address, subnet mask and gateway address. Ensure these settings are in your modem/router and its connection type is set to "Static IP address" and verify your settings.
- If you are using a dynamic IP address connection, ensure that the modem/router is set to this option.
- Ensure your username, password are set in your modem/router and the connection is set to PPPoE.
