general VOIP/iiTalk settings

The following information will be useful should you need to use iiNet VOIP or iiTalk with a 3rd party VOIP enabled router or VOIP adapter (ATA Device). These are common settings that are used across a variety of VOIP hardware. Should you continue to experience difficulties, please contact your hardware manufacturer for further assistance.

VOIP SIP Domain: iinetphone.iinet.net.au
SIP Server: sip.state.iinet.net.au (where state is your location - eg NSW)
Username: Enter your VOIP/iiTalk phone number (remove any formatting such as spaces and dashes)
Password: Enter your special VOIP/ password (not the same as connection password)
Re-Registration Time Interval: 300 seconds
Codec Preference: G729 followed by G711 (ulaw or alaw or both)
DNS: Use SRV Records
Phone number: your VOIP/iiTalk number (including area code)
Display name: iinetphone
SIP domain: iinetphone.iinet.net.au
SIP Server: sip.state.iinet.net.au (where state is your location - eg VIC)
Username: your VOIP/iiTalk number
Password: your password for your VOIP/iiTalk service
Proxy IP: sip.state.iinet.net.au (where state is your location - eg WA)
Registrar IP: sip.state.iinet.net.au (where state is your location - eg NSW)

The SIP servers for each state are as follows:

Firewall Settings

If stopping your firewall fixes any VOIP/iiTalk registration/calling issues, then you'll want to manually allow the following ports through:

UDP 5060: From sip.state.iinet.net.au (where state is your location - eg NSW)
UDP 35000-44999: From sip.state.iinet.net.au (where state is your location - eg WA)
UDP CPE Port: The port your CPE uses for RTP, eg 8000-8001 or 5061 or 16384 for Netcomm V300 firmware v04
