Morwell Motel is a 22-room motel located in Morwell, an industrial town in Victoria’s Latrobe Valley home to most of the state’s power generation facilities.
Due to a high concentration of power plants and other primary industry businesses based in the area, most of the guests who stay at Morwell Motel are corporate or business travellers. This small town also houses the largest rural law court outside of Melbourne and the Latrobe Community Health Service, attracting people from all over the Latrobe Valley and Gippsland.
Morwell is also a drawcard for a number of tourists who come to visit the Morwell Centenary Rose Garden, the largest rose garden in Victoria. Additionally, the town’s central position in the Latrobe Valley means that it’s close to the snow, award-winning wineries, a historic gold mining town and four national parks.
The motel was established in late 2012 following a $500,000 renovation, and has already been rated the number one best bargain hotel and the number two best small hotel in Australia by Tripadvisor’s Traveller’s Choice Awards.
